PinKi en Da Bruin are from the streets of Cape Town . They make music that has no genre. Their names were given to them by ” bergies ” who dubbed them Pinki en sy Bruin Broe .

“Our lives changed when we were given the message ‘bFAKE ‘, it is one that teaches about being happy , accepting and positive in any and every situation . It speaks about the social progressions in our world and how the population seeks individuality and originality not knowing that it becomes impossible the more we want it, resulting in hate and unhappiness”, says Mr. Bruin.

Since then, 3 more have accepted the teachings of bFAKE : Bragdoll ( RAP ), Key+ ( Beatmaker ) Hannah (Singer/Songwriter). They collaborate most of the time but also work on their own. They now also have their own (home) recording studio and have made, and released, over 30 songs via social media networks with one release getting just short of 20 000 views in a few weeks.

It is because of blessings like these and constantly being fake that PinKi en Da Bruin were given the opportunity by DJ DNA to tour with him around Utrecht and Amsterdam, Netherlands. The main gig is The Liberation Festival – which is one of the biggest festival in Utrecht. It is the celebration of the end of Nazi Germany’s occupation of the state. They will also perform in Rotterdam- The Hague and Amsterdam- among other places.

They also strongly affiliate and operate with the most followed group of skateboarders in South Africa – 20sk8 and recently done a demo with them at Thibault Square. A turning point in South African for skateboarding as it was the first time skateboarders were legally allowed to use the place. It is also the most skated spot in Cape Town and has been for over 30 years.

Da Bruin adds “It is moments and opportunities like these that brings happiness and joy. bHAPPY ,bCOLOURFUL ,bPOSITIVE bFAKE”.
