A series exploring the origin story of one of the most influential hip hop groups will be aired on Hulu on the 4 September 2019. While we’ve seen hip hop biopics like “Get Rich or Die Tryin”, “Hustle and Flow” “8 Mile” and others, we’ve yet to an epic series of a hip hop group such as the Wu-Tang Clan.
“I’m delighted to be partnering with Hulu and Imagine to explore the vast story of Wuniverse,” said The RZA, the de facto leader of the Wu-Tang Clan.
The series will detail the formation of the hip hop group as The RZA unites the rappers GZA, Ol’ Dirty Bastard, Method Man, Raekwon, Ghostface Killah, Inspectah Deck in the midst of a crime-ridden New York in the early 1990’s.
