Social network has become a place where people showcase their talents, business and personality. It is not a secret that people are being discovered on social media and are now living their dreams.

Leading up to the Facebook Youth Enterprise & Skills Day on 8 June 2019, we’re giving you a few ways you can use social media to create a brand for yourself:

1.Know your values

It is very easy to lose yourself in this space and forget who you are. Write down your values to remind yourself of your goals and what you stand for. Not everyone will like what you are offering but don’t let that discourage you.

2.  Ever heard of the word ‘content’?

This is where you need to plan what you will be putting out on social media and how you will be presenting it. Stick to what you know best and what you would like to be known for.

3. A love of aesthetics and visuals

known for quality pictures and videos, what usually draws people is the quality and how you present your feed.

If you come across a poor quality video on your timeline, would you even consider playing it? If the answer is no, the same would happen to people if you put out a video like that. Instagram is where you will showcase your products and it has to be appealing.

4. Consistency is key

Remind people what you do once in awhile. For instance, if you are a YouTuber and your focus is on fashion hauls, you need to upload videos regularly. If that is the case, people will always look out for your videos because they are aware of when you upload them. The mistake that most people do is to upload once a month and do it again after a while. The trick is that the more you post the more you get engagement from your audience.

5. Consider Facebook

Mostly people overlook Facebook because they haven’t discovered its benefits when it comes to small businesses.

One of them would be word of my mouth and that is now happening on Facebook.

Facebook consists of close friends and families. Those are the people who can help you promote your work.  If you’re wondering how, all you need to do is tell them what you are offering and let them help you share it.

6.Tags and hashtags

Sometimes tagging the right people on your post helps. They might see it and retweet or share it. That will give you exposure to work with other people who are interested in what you are offering.Twitter would be the best place to do so.

One of the best ways to reach more people would be using trends to your advantage. If there is a hashtag trending and it relates to your business, tweet about it a lot of people wl see your tweet.
