POLOKWANE: Three students were stabbed on the Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) at Polokwane campus on Tuesday. According to TUT spokeswoman Willa de Ruyter, the attack was sparked by an argument related to student elections held at campus.
The injured students received treatment at local hospital and were discharged. “The alleged perpetrator, who assaulted by standers has been apprehended and is currently under police guard in hospital. The police are investigating the matter” said De Ruyter
The university is doing an internal investigation. De Ruyter said the instution was weapon-free and had security measures in place to ensure the safety of students and staff.
