So, if you’re still living at home, I’m sure you can agree that your folks and family can be a bit of a pain at times. However, with it being a new year and all, why not try a new approach?
1. Keep your room clean – this is YOUR space, even though you may be able to find order amongst your own mess, a well kept room is not only hygienic and a way to ensure you enjoy your surroundings – it’s the easiest way to strike out your mom or dad’s first complaint.
2. Chores – was the dishes, tend to the garden or do whatever it is you’re normally expected to do. Don’t make them beg for it as that’s usually when your annoyance will grow. Use the time to reflect on your day or think about other more interesting stuff you have lined up.
3. Be nice – Note, this is not sucking up! It simply implies that you have it in you to be courteous to the people who birthed you – it could start with a simple cup of tea or speaking without an attitude when you’re having a conversation.
4. Be considerate – If you’re going out or have specific plans – inform them before hand, ask their permission where needed and let them know if any last minute changes are made/ that you’re safe etc.
