Soweto artist Brian Mokhachane is the founder of Soul Art Foundation: a social enterprise that makes art from discarded materials. He’s made bags from fabric cut offs, chairs from discarded paraffin tins and journals from discarded files. Brian says he chose social entrepreneurship “to develop [his] community, build and inspire people”. Mokhachane started the enterprise as a way of tackling unemployment and drug abuse in his area. All of the designers he works with receive a percentage from the sales he makes. Here he picks the best of the bags and notebooks from his company’s creations.
Contact Brian on 072 862 6611 if you’d like any of his products.
