Live Mag’s Cape Town office has the privilege of following the unique style choices of 20-year-old Terry, Fashion Editor for Issue 10. Her genuine love for dressing up makes her the perfect candidate for the job. Living up to her title, she never fails to present us with her finest ideas. By capturing her outfits for four days, we have created a style diary and dug deeper into the reasons behind her style.
When questioned about her love for fashion, she replies: “ I love fashion because it doesn’t have any rules. Fashion paints a picture of you to those who do not know you.” She explains that a person’s personality is often expressed through their choice of clothing.
Possessing no specific look, Terry tries out many different styles. Pink lipstick is a constant factor that adds a classy look to each outfit, whether it be edgy or daring. This young fashionista is stylish from head to toe – literally. She relies on head wear to finish off each outfit, whether it be a cap, hat or beanie.
Her celebrity style icon is Rihanna. She admires the star’s tendency to take risks and dress according to what makes her feel comfortable. “ She does not want to be a role model, she does what is right for her,” Terry explains. Her regular use of her Converse sneakers is based on how Rihanna re-wears certain items of clothing on different occasions to mix up her outfits.
