Yesterday, a few members of the Live Mag SA team headed off to the Waterfront Studios to tape an episode of Hectic Nine 9. Our Editor Fika Msengana, one of our Photographers Inshaaf Ismail and our Features Editor (and Chef) Zama Memela had the opportunity to talk with presenters Danilo and Laurain about Freedom of the Press while Zama hung out in the kitchen with presenter Lesego and cooked us up a Thai Chicken Roll for ‘Journo’s on the go’.
We weren’t the only guests on the show though, writers for UCT’s Varsity Newspaper got a chance to take a seat on the red couch and chat about how they go about finding stories for the newspaper and putting only the best ones together ready for publishing and distribution to all UCT students.
Musical guests, The Kiffness- a duo consisting of Dave Scott on trumpet & keys and Mvelo Shandu (also known as Midnight Madness) on bass, brought down the house with their funky jazz electro beats and catchy lyrics. They too, got the opportunity to talk about themselves and their music.
To top it all off the LiveSA Magazine team took the UCT Varsity writers on with a little game of General Knowledge-who won, you may be wondering? Don’t let me spoil it for you, be sure to check out the episode on April 3rd.
Hectic Nine 9 airs weekdays at 16h00 on SABC 2.
