It’s no secret that people worldwide just aren’t spending money on music records anymore, not as much as they did ten years ago anyway. Snoop Dogg is no novice to the tribulations of making and selling a music album, with twelve studio albums and a mammoth 126 singles under his belt one can easily call him a success.
This year the world saw the death of Snoop Dogg and the spiritual awakening of the Lion, Snoop Lion to be exact. It’s not every day an artist recreates themselves especially in a world where excess to just about anything can be a button click away. So when Snoop Dogg came out and said he is reincarnating you can guess the thoughts that flooded into my mind. Was this musical suicide?
Well… in its debut Reincarnated (Snoop’s latest musical atonement) stood at number one on the Billboard reggae chart. The Lion decided to bless our shores once again and Live Magazine SA got access to his concert at Ellis Park in Johannesburg on Sunday 19 May. We took our cameras and captured the vibe.
Snoop Dogg or Snoop Lion? Give me both!
