From brightly patterned, complex multi-colours to chicly simple and everything in-between; the retro knitwear phenomenon is embraced fully by the current generation of style lovers with greater panache.
When one walks around the city – there is a powerful and enchanting spirit that is exuded by these “cool” youngsters adorning their woollens with a beautiful and inspirational enthusiasm. The trend always endows with comfort. It’s flattering while embodying a strong sense of being unique, different and simply divine.
London-born Jean Moss – one of the awesome knitwear designers of those days – had remarked in her book, titled: Designer Knits Collection that “by combining intricate stitch-work with fine yarn, I attempted here to create a timeless sweater which like all the old classics will get better over the years”
Indeed Jean, your generation along with its fellow designers around the world elaborately created a trend with interesting patterns, shapes and colours in which the styling will always be appreciated throughout the ages.
And while we give thanks to the retrospective generation for this fabulous trend, it’s good to acknowledge the contemporary youngsters that give it a fresh approach and are making ART of it.
