featuring Public Protector Adv. Thuli Madonsela
International Anti-Corruption Day
9 December 2015
12h00 to 16h00
#YouthDialogueZA
Corruption Watch and Livity Africa’s VIP Campaign are excited to bring you the Youth Agenda featuring Public Protector Adv. Thuli Madonsela on 9 December 2015 at The Orbit Jazz Club and Bistro in Braamfontein. By bringing together Adv. Madonsela, a globally recognized anti-corruption activist, and emerging youth leaders, we will explore how the radical youth voice is a significant force in combating corruption in its many forms in South Africa.
At a time when many young people feel that the promises of 1994 have been broken, the #FeesMustFall, #EndOutSourcing and #RhodesMustFall movements have introduced a renewed sense of urgency to the conversations on access, ethical labour practice and racial identity. We will discuss the significance of a radicalized youth voice as a tool to highlight institutionalized ills, upsetting the status quo and beating corruption’s many faces and what this mean for the future.
How can public participation, as seen through the youth-led movements, continue to impact South African politics positively and help end the high levels of corruption in the future? Join VIP and Corruption Watch on International Anti-Corruption Day, for a youth-run, youth-centered event in review of the year that was and where to go from here. Doors open at 11h00, the program starts at 12h00 and will run until 16h00. Attendance is free but we only have room for 70 more people so hurry and register today! While you’re at it check out our promo video featuring our MC Deep Fried Man here.
