My girls and I are very particular about where we chill and eat out. The Doppio Zero in Sandton has definitely made it to the top of our list of restaurants with good food at a reasonable price. I absolutely love having my meetings there and will always volunteer to give an out-of-towner the Doppio Zero experience, especially if they offer to pay [chuckles].
The most intriguing thing for me is that although its situated indoors, the glass windows on the upper level give it an outdoor feel. It’s also convenient that international brands like Top Shop and Zara are literally within walking distance.
I also love the fact that an amateur health freak like myself gets to indulge in the best of both worlds. Their food ranges from their mouth-watering Don Vito pizza to their famous Thai chicken salad.
The decor is modern and chic with light wooden furniture and neutral colours which enhance the tranquility of the restaurant. The crowd is usually modern and diverse. It also helps that Sandton City has recently been renovated and is no longer a playground for the rich and suited up only, but it now accommodates those who can’t afford to dig as deep in their pockets.
It is no wonder that more recently my girls and I spend our spare time our happily indulging in some shopping and still have change to spare. What better way to end it all off at Doppio Zero, where the food, vibe and service is always way more than what we bargained for.
