So I know you probably wondering what that text said,you know the one he sent me. Truth is I haven’t read it yet I’m a bit scared to discover what he had to say. I know it’s the month of love and most people will be sharing Valentine’s Day with their special partners.

Well whether you are with someone or alone on that day. Here are a few things to remember about love. Uhm..I’m not saying I’m an expert in this department but I can share some of my thoughts.

The thing about love or loving someone is that it can bring pain and joy in your life. Just like the sunshine appears after a rainy day nothing comes by easily. It’s essential to first love and appreciates yourself in order to love someone else. It does not mean that there is something wrong with you if you single it just means you are content with being by yourself. Relationships are hard-work you allowing somebody to come into your space, sharing your baggage, emotions and experiences with someone is tough if you don’t trust that person.

We grew up with the notion that Barbie and Ken belong together so since we were young we have idolized the concept of being with someone else in order to feel like you are appreciate. We are taught as young girls that we should get married one day and once you reach a certain age and you haven’t met someone you can get married to then something must be wrong with you.

The pressure to be loved starts from the young girl who seeks for male affection because daddy was never around. From feeling like you are not good enough. We all have different scenarios and memories of what love is. But at the end of the day it is up to an individual to accept themselves and know that you can’t change the past but you can create an ideal future.

So buy yourself a rose or smile a stranger, hug your friend or buy a gift for someone else without expecting something in return. The more you spread love the more it will come back to you.
