Title: Future Music Rising Cultural Event & Content Producer
Location: 5 De Beer Street, Braamfontein, Johannesburg, 2000

Timeframe: 3 days per week, 6-week contract (14 October to 22 November 2013)
Project: British Council Connect ZA and Live SA present #FutureMusic Rising in association with Roundhouse (UK)
This November, upcoming South African music talent will get the chance to perform in a special weekend of performances that will lead to one act being chosen to perform at the Roundhouse Rising festival in London, UK next February 2014. For the climax of the Connect ZA and Live SA #FutureMusic series for this year, the hunt is on for emerging SA bands, producers and performers to put themselves forward for consideration to a judging panel of experts. Six acts will be shortlisted to perform in either Cape Town or Johannesburg at the #FutureMusic shows on the 8 and 9 November. The judging panel will then select the best of the best for the UK performance next year.
Overall role objective
To assist with the overall curation and production of the events in Johannesburg and Cape Town, and to work alongside the Live Magazine SA team with the responsibility of content creation and marketing.
Artist liaison and production management for the events as well as pre and post activity. You will be required to travel to Cape Town on 9 November.
Assist with press liaison and marketing including managing the street team’s distribution of flyers and posters.
Managing all digital and social media promotion of events (will be guided by the Marketing Manager).
Manage content creation around the events with the Live Magazine SA team of contributors as well as managing the programme microsite.
Work independently with guidance from the Project Manager and Marketing Manager to ensure the documentation of the event – pre and post event.
