30-year-old actress Anne Hathaway is set to star in an adaptation of William Shakespeare’s comedy The Taming of the Shrew.
The script will be written by Abi Morgan, whose previous works include Shame and The Iron Lady. Morgan will update Shakespeare’s 16th century classic into a slightly more modern piece with the setting placed in the mid 20th century Italy.
Other than being a part of the Shakespearian work, Hathaway has also said she is open to the idea of a segment film for her The Dark Knight Rises character as Catwoman (Selina Kyle).
“I’m a big fan of the idea, but there’s nothing happening. It just kind of exists in my imagination”, said Hathaway.
Hathaway is famous for her roles in classic and blockbuster films such as The Princess Diaries, The Devil Wears Prada, The Dark Knight Rises, and more recently Les Miserables which she won an award for as Best Supporting Actress at the Golden Globes held on Sunday, 13 January 2013.
