DSTV will launch a ‘pop-up’ channel on 2 March to follow the trial of Oscar Pistorius.
Pistorius is charged for the murder of his girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp, on 14 February 2013. His trial will start on Monday, 3 March in the Pretoria High Court.
The channel is scheduled to broadcast documentaries, profile segments, interviews, and an in-depth analysis on the trial. Combined Artistic Production will be responsible for most of the content.
It is not confirmed yet whether or not the trial judge will allow the trial to be televised or will allow a live broadcast.
This will not be the first time Dstv has launched a pop-up channel. They have done so in the past with Big Brother Africa, Idols and the Nelson Mandela memorial.
*The Oscar Pistorius trial will broadcast on channel 199.
