Digify is an innovative training journey developed by Livity Africa with support from Google and IAB SA, aiming to create the next generation of job-ready digital upstarts. Put through their paces in an intensive three month process in a real workplace: sharpening digital skills, vocational training and getting job-smart and work-ready.
How does it work?
Featuring expert industry tutors, real briefs for real platforms, campaigns, content, code and Google expertise… Digify gives the experience and learning of a real workplace while teaching robust skills around core digital disciplines that brands and agencies need.
Who is it aimed at?
This is a unique opportunity for 18-25 year olds with raw talent, potential and determination for a career in digital. They show the willing: we provide the opportunity. Digify graduates have begun careers at Native VML, Retroviral, FoxP2, Casson Media, Aqua Agency, iClinic, MTN, Vicinty Media, Hitch Digital , Publicis Machine and African Leadership Academy. Thank you to some of our industry partners who also supported the programme including 42 Engines, Quirk, Native VML, Red Bull, Retroviral, Net#ork BBDO, Mail and Guardian, mLab Southern Africa, Kit Kat, Nescafé, MTN, Nandos and Mountain Dew.
What skills will the trainees get?
As well as a broad and wide-ranging practical experience of digital that covers digital campaigns, social media and content creation, we are taking trainees through eight key Google modules including Search, Ad Words, YouTube and Analytics. And, just as importantly, we are exposing trainees to the basic and fundamental processes and disciplines of the workplace: the soft skills and professional basics that every successful employee needs.
What is the ultimate goal?
Digify is working with Google and IAB SA to offer every graduate of the programme a paid entry level job or internship. We aim to create a consistent pipeline of capable and employable young talent into brands and agencies.
