The British Council Connect ZA in partnership with Livity Africa and CTEMF are looking for 15 young creative thinkers with an interest in writing/journalism as well digital marketing to apply to be part of this year’s Cape Town Electronic Music Festival (#CTEMF) Creative Hustle (#CreativeHustles).

The programme will focus on four core areas, music journalism, digital content generation, music production and festival organisation.

Participants are offered:

Music journalism exposure

  • Training on Music Festival reporting by experts provided by CTEMF as a part of a Music Journalism workshop
  • Opportunity to have your content published on CTEMF/Connect ZA /LiveSA platforms

Date: Wednesday 3 February
Venue: Livity Africa office Unit 1, The Stockyard, 3 Ravenscraig Road, Woodstock
Time: 2- 3pm

Digital content/ marketing exposure

  • Digital marketing tutorial by MADE agency
  • In addition two renowned Cape Town bloggers will give a talk on life as bloggers and how to turn blogging into a career.

Date: Wednesday 3 February
Venue: Livity Africa office Unit 1, The Stockyard, 3 Ravenscraig Road, Woodstock
Time: 3- 4pm

Music Production

  • A talk on music production and the business of music by two of the CTEMF headlining acts
  • Access to CTEMF and British Council Connect ZA artists and exclusive content to gain knowledge on music production will also be available to young people.

Date: Thursday 4 February
Venue: Guga S’thebe, Washington St, Langa, Cape Town
Time: 2pm – 4pm
4pm – 6pm (discussion with Nightmares on Wax)

Festival Organisation (walkabout with  Duncan Ringrose)

  • CTEMF Director, Duncan Ringrose will give a behind-the-scenes walk-through of the City Hall with insights focusing on what goes into producing a music festival such as CTEMF.

Date: Friday 5 February
Venue: City Hall, Darling St, Cape Town, 8001
Time: 12pm till late
