For the past ten years, the Castle Lite Unlocks Experience has become an institution in SA’s hip hop events calendar and this year is no different. The suspense builds in the lead up to the headliner announcement; we start our predictions on who will be unlocked, who should be unlocked and who we think Castle Lite should mize.

The wait is finally over; Castle Lite revealed the headliner for their 10 year anniversary celebrations on Thursday in a masterful online campaign. Early bird tickets were sold in waves with the price rising each time a 100 tickets were sold.

We were also treated to an “unboxing” of sorts where celebrities shared their reaction to the announcement of the headlining act. The reaction videos had us on the edge of our seats. We saw shock, excitement, bewilderment and sheer joy at the announcement. Well, the cat is out of the bag, this year Castle Lite unlocks Cardi B.
