Coming from where I’m from, it’s a common occurrence seeing children playing a soccer match in the streets of Eldorado Park. Many of these children admire soccer stars and pretend to be a Cristiano Ronaldo on the field, but probably don’t believe they can make a career out of the sport because of the lack of opportunities and resources in their communities.
Vodacom is looking for girls and boys between the ages of 14 and 16 to participate in the #VodacomNXTLVL scout campaign. This initiative aims to find youth who have a passion for playing soccer, to afford them the opportunity to become the next best world renowned soccer star.
Think you have what it takes? Then you will need to get a chommie or a family member to record you doing one of four drills. Then head to the Vodacom NXT LVL website and register. Upload your video to the site and encourage your family and friends to vote for you because the 100 contestants with the most votes will be selected to up their game at a soccer boot camp with non other than, Lucas Radebe, Shorty Ndludlu and Mark Fish.
32 players will be shortlisted and will go on to play in a live exhibition game where the winning team will be awarded with scholarships to attend TUKS Sports High School.
