When they won the World Cup of Funny in 2010, they united a nation through laughter, strengthened international ties with their groundbreaking performance at the Royal Albert Hall and broke all comedy records with their subsequent Victory Tour. In 2011 they defended their title during “The Odd Shaped Ball” Games and became South Africa’s Comedy Heroes.
Now, the team featuring SA’s funniest stand-up comedians is gearing up for their biggest challenge to date… going for Gold at the 2012 Olympics of Funny with their aptly named “Rings of Fire” Tour.
With a burning desire and a nation’s support behind them, the Bafunny team will carry the torch to the starting point of their nationwide tour in Johannesburg first from the 11th to the 14th of October at the Teatro at Montecasino before conquering Cape Town from the 2nd to the 4th of November at Artscape and finally flying the flag high in Durban on the 10th and 11th of November at the Durban’s ICC.
Another production created by Comedy specialists Hunta Live, the biggest promoter and producer of local and international Comedy in Africa. In Johannesburg, Bafunny Bafunny will be one of the key events forming part of Jozi’s biggest festival, the MTN Festival at Montecasino that runs until the 14th of October.
