As we wind down to the end of the year, we look back at our favourite fashion trends of 2015.

Flower crowns

We love Frida Kahlo for her artistic brilliance and honest emotions. But we are also in awe of her sense of style – particularly the flower crowns. We’ve seen flower crowns adorning many heads this year, from festival goers to trendy people on the streets intent on giving everyday outfits a whimsical twist.

Short hair with a burst of colour

Both girls and boys were way more experimental with their hair this year. From silver and platinum blonde hair, to pink, blue and green hues. We approve – life’s too short to have boring hair. #shorthairdontcare

Eyebrows on fleek

One would think that eyebrows only started existing in 2015, that’s how hot this trend became. Girls (and some guys) are obsessed with getting the perfect arch and thickness. While many people get it wrong and end up looking like clowns, we commend those who get it right every single time.

Septum rings and flash tattoos

Piercings and tattoos have always been youth’s ultimate sign of rebellion. This year we took it further; we fell in love with septum and nose rings as well as tunnel piercings and flash tattoos.

Banging beards

Beards are just so bae. We feel sorry for those guys who can’t grow them. We love how creative Tzvi Kaap (below) always is with his beard.

Almost all the hats

There were so many hats that became must-haves: from the fedora, bowl hat, to the spotie and baseball hat. People were wearing this fashion accessory whether you were in the sun or not.

Sports luxe

It sounds like a paradox, the idea of glamorous sportsware, but fashion gurus made it work. The it items of this trend would probably have to be the wedge sneaker, worn with workout leggings. Or, as Rihanna and other fashionistas have shown us, a sexy evening dress can look chic worn with sneakers and a cap.
