Iko Mash is dead
by: admin - 21 July 2017
Fun, fab and fierce to the last breath. This is how her fans and peers will remember Iko Mash, who succumbed to cancer today.
Before there was Caitlyn Jenner or Laverne Cox, decades before transgendered people were visible, there was Iko Mash: openly transgendered, and slaying the entertainment industry by trying her hand at acting, singing, and TV presenting.
But it was her skill with the make-up brush that turned her into a household name, with a clientele that included the late Lebo Mathosa and current IT girls like Dineo Ranaka.
Iko was a bonafide gay and LGBTQI icon — fearless and provocative. As a professional, she was committed to her craft and hustle. She was fabulous, darling; always dressed for the occasion, perfectly styled and the life and soul of the party.
Rest in peace mokgotsi: you came, you saw, you slayed.
