Kevin Dladla is looking to create change with a skate park
by: Sheilan Clarke - 1 August 2017
Meet Kevin Dladla, a youth activist from Margate Extension 3 in KwaZulu Natal. His dream is to build an extreme sports park in the area to provide opportunities for young people in his community. Currently, the park in Extension 3 is used as a place to do drugs and engage in crime. In building the skate and extreme sports park that he dreams of, Kevin wants to steer youth away from illegal activities. He wants to see them reach their full potential and even compete in extreme sports competitions in the future.
We caught up with him recently to tell us more about his plans. Watch the video below and let us know what you think.
Project Demo finds the voices of young people in South Africa, amplifies their stories and turns their cause for change into a reality. Tell them your issue. They’ll take it on and campaign with you.
