Ballin’ on NSFAS budget: How Sibongile spent R818 000

by: admin - 30 August 2017

What would you do if you woke up with R14 million in your account? Well, that is what happened to one Walter Sisulu University student Sibongile Mani.

According to Intellimali (the organisation that is responsible for distributing NSFAS loans to Walter Sisulu University students), they accidentally deposited 14 million instead of the standard R1 400.

Sibongile documented her fabulous NSFAS funded life on Facebook. In June alone, she jetted off to Johannesburg for two holidays, she was in Port Elizabeth for a bit, she had fun a bestie breakie at Wimpy and even hosted a lavish dinner. In just three months, Sibongile Mani spent a modest R818 000.

Unfortunately, it was Facebook that led to her demise, after students accused of her corruption and fraud. Intellimali has since suspended Sibongile’s account while they investigate the matter.

Black Twitter couldn’t help it but get involved and this is how they reacted.
