#FreeToBleed: Young people in Atteridgeville co-create a policy around sanitary products

by: Live Staff - 19 April 2017

In his 2011 address, President Jacob Zuma promised to give free sanitary products to young girls. But to this day, only the Kwazulu-Natal department of education is handing out free pads in schools, the rest of the nation has yet to follow suit.

In an effort to get young people involved in helping to shape policy, the Project Demo team, along with our partners, held a policy brainstorm in Atteridgeville, Pretoria, where we tried to co-create a policy around sanitary products.

Have a look at what happened at the event and continue the conversation on our social media pages @ProjectDemoZA as we’d love to hear your ideas.
