Meet Nonceba Mhlauli, the youngest ANC spokesperson in parliament

by: Ziyanda Stuurman - 31 March 2017

“It’s very important that young, black females start taking more active, more powerful roles in the ANC,” says Nonceba Mhlauli (26), acting spokesperson for the ANC in parliament. She tells us about her background, how her grandmother introduced her to politics, her time at Rhodes University, and why patriarchy must fall. “Patriarchy has become so unsustainable in society, and men who perpetuate it are doing themselves a disservice. You must just get with the programme.”

Watch our interview with Nonceba below:

Project Demo finds the voices of young people in South Africa, amplifies their stories and turns their cause for change into a reality. Tell them your issue. They’ll take it on and campaign with you.
