Get a dose of soft black boy aesthetics with Tyler The Creator

Tyler The Creator has come through with soft pastel and floral aesthetics for his latest range. The Odd Future rapper partnered with Converse to release the One Star x Golf le Fleur collection which includes sneakers and T-shirts.

Tyler has always been a promoter of the Carefree Black Boy movement.  Throughout his career, he has encouraged young people to screw social expectations and be true to themselves, “Tell these black kids they could be who they are/Dye your hair blue, shit, I’ll do it too,” he says in his latest album.

With the use of pastels and florals, the Converse collection is just an extension of that movement. Tyler reimagines the iconic One Star sneaker to include a flower contrast stitching surrounding the iconic star and the embroidered bee logo on the heel.

Inscribed on the shoe’s inner and outer sole is also a special message to all of the soft carefree black boys and girls, “Don’t let ‘em kill your flowers, water your garden and stunt.”
