Beyoncé named highest paid black celebrity of all time
by: Robyn Frost - 30 April 2014
She’s one of Time’s 100 top influential people and now named the highest paid black artist of all time. Beyonc’e has beaten the likes of the Jackson siblings; Janet and Michael. Her pockets are now $212 million deeper for her year-long tour called Mrs Carter. She recently announced her plans of a new tour. This time her husband Jay-Z will be joining her.
What does it take to become the highest paid black artist?
Follow some of B’s success habits and you could be just as ‘fierce’ :
B supports a number of charities and causes. The most notable one being The Survivor Foundation for Hurricane Katrina victims. Giving back allows you to be grateful for what you have.
Follow your passion then success will follow you
Beyoncé has been chasing her passion since Destiny’s Child days. She has achieved her “sweet dream” but this came from hard work and not giving up.
Don’t listen to the haters
“When you love and accept yourself, when you know who really cares about you, and when you learn from your mistakes, then you stop caring about what people who don’t know you think,” says Beyonc’e
All the independent women put your hands up
“I truly believe that women should be financially independent from their men. And let’s face it, money gives men the power to run the show. It gives men the power to define value. They define what’s sexy. And men define what’s feminine. It’s ridiculous,” Says Beyoncé.
Get your family’s support
Beyoncé has always had great family support. Her father Matthew Knowles was Destiny’s child manager while Tina Knowles made the clothes. Tina is still involved with B’s fashion line. Beyoncé is also dangerously in love with her husband Jay-Z – they are a powerhouse couple and are said to be the richest most hard working in the world. Beyoncé has been quoted saying that the more successful she gets the more she needs a man. Family support is crucial- getting to the top is tough.
Have multiple ways of getting income
B makes music, owns a clothing line and her own fragrances….
Beyoncé is one of the hardest working females around.
“I wanted to sell a million records, and I sold a million records. I wanted to go platinum, I went platinum. I’ve been working nonstop since I was 15. I don’t even know how to chill out.”
She is also using her voice to highlight the lengths women go to to be pretty. In her latest video “Pretty hurts” Miss B is in a beauty contest. It features bulimia, taking tablets, plastic surgery – all in the name of being beautiful (and at enormous cost, if not to your pocket – then to your health)
Here’s B’s latest video
